Flight Attendant Dies Hours After Spinout Crash With Tractor Trailer On Route 78 In Lebanon Jennifer Friedel-Hoffman, a 60-year-old Pennsylvania resident, was killed in a crash on Route 78 in New Jersey on Wednesday, May 29. A tractor-trailer was parked and unoccupied on the right shoulder on Route 78 West in Lebanon when a Subaru driven by Friedel-Hoffman entered the area and struck the left rear of the truck just after 9 a.m., New Jersey State Police said.  The crash caused the Subaru to spin out and hit a Volkswagen passenger car traveling in the right lane, police said. Vehicle Sought In Pipe Assault Robbery, Newark Police Says A man was assaulted with a pipe and robbed in Newark on the early morning of Friday, May 31, authorities said. At 3:41 a.m., two men and a woman struck the man with a metal pipe in his head, face, back and arm on the 400 block of North 5th Street, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Pedestrian, 41, Killed By Car On Route 1&9 In Linden, Police Say A 41-year-old Winfield Park man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle in Linden on the early morning of Wednesday, June 5, authorities said. At 1:20 a.m., police responded to S. Wood Avenue and Routes 1 and 9 on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle, Linden police said in a release.  The pedestrian was crossing Route 1 and 9 when he was struck by a 2021 Honda Civic traveling southbound, police said.
